The National Insurance Scheme will be expanding coverage for the self-employed in Barbados.

Actuary with the NIS, Derek Osbourne, gave details during a discussion on the provisions of the NIS Revitalisation Plan.

He said this innovation is to make the NIS payment process easier for those who are self-employed.

The NIS has also added Employment injury benefit to self-employed persons.
