Up to 200 hundred families will receive school supplies from the Salvation Army’s back to school programme this year.
This is according to Chairman of the Advisory board Mr Paul Bernstein.
Mr Bernstein says with the increasing cost of items more families have requested assistance.
Eighty percent of the organizations income still comes from their Christmas programme which they use to assist individuals and families throughout the year.
Managing Director of Abeds, Eddy abeds stated that this year is a new record high for his company as they have received more requests for assistance through the Salvation Army and individually.
He said this is symbolic that hard times still remain.
Meanwhile The Salvation Army also launched their website today to widen its reach including to those who are differently abled.
