Community Service for Airport Bomb Scare Accused

An American teenager who caused a bomb scare on a plane at the Grantley Adams International Airport has escaped a jail term after pleading guilty to the charge.

Shiloh Bellott admitted to behaving in a manner which interfered with the discharge of functions and duties of a crew member by uttering the words “Bomb the plane” while on a Jet Blue flight.

He appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick at District “B” Magistrates’ Court where he was represented by Michael Lashley, K.C, Simon Clarke and  Ken Mason.

Mr Lashley requested that a non-custodial sentence be imposed on the now convicted teen and the court agreed with the recommendation.

The court sentenced Mr Bellott to eighty hours community service and the matter was adjourned to the 18th of August.
