Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford, Barbados’ fourth Prime Minister was eulogized with glowing tributes during today’s state funeral.
Thousands of Barbadians and tourists lined the streets to give a fitting farewell to the late Sir Lloyd as the funeral procession departed from Paramount Funeral Home and made its way to St. Peter’s Parish Church in Speightown, before the interment at the St. James Cemetery.
His son Garth spoke of his Sir Lloyd’s exemplary qualities, including dedication to service.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley also paid tribute to Sir Lloyd describing him as a giant of man.
A tearful Prime Minister Mottley offered condolences to the family.
