Jet ski operators in the Carlisle Bay area believe it’s time the authorities crack down on pirate operators that the registered ones claim are flouting the laws and endangering the lives of their clients.
This appeal follows a jet ski incident on Sunday afternoon that has left two females hospitalised.
Police confirm two females who were on a jet ski ended up in the water and that the operator attempted to keep both of them afloat.
The operator a speed boat which was in the area observed what was happening and went to their rescue.
He pulled the three onto his boat and took them to shore where a lifeguard performed first aid until an ambulance arrived.
The women were taken to hospital.
A jet-ski operator, who works at Carlisle Bay, tells Starcom Network News the young ladies were not wearing life jackets and there needs to be tighter regulation of the sector.
