High Hopes for Crop Over Economic Boost

The head of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes this year’s Crop Over festival could provide a significant economic boost.

Chamber President James Clarke notes this year’s activities represent a rebound after the pandemic hiatus and last year’s limited restart.

He expects Crop Over arrivals will help increase the summer tourism numbers.

This year’s Crop Over season is seeing record numbers of patrons attending major fetes.

This was confirmed by President of the Entertainment Association of Barbados Rudy Maloney who tells Starcom Network News he also believes the marketing and high-production quality of major events is a major contributing factor to the large turnouts.
