Some patrons of the jouvert fete Powda were given a scare and others left irate after dozens of people stormed the event at Vaucluse Raceway in St. Thomas many climbing over or bursting through the barricades.
The number of mostly men but also some females who barged into the event was so large that the security appeared to have been overwhelmed.
One patron also told Starcom Network News of bottles and other missiles being thrown at one stage.
Meantime, video circulating on social media showed the group swarming the venue, many wearing white T-shirts and some with their faces covered.
