Drowning at Speightstown Beach

An early morning trip to the beach has ended in the death of a 65-year-old man.

The police say the unresponsive body of Barrington Hinds of Corbin’s Road, Ashton Hall, St. Peter was discovered about 6:08 am at Sand Street, Speightstown.

A beach goer reportedly saw Mr. Hinds walk onto the beach and a while later noticed that the body was face-down in the water with slippers floating next to it.

The victim’s brother, prison officer Tessel Hinds, tells Starcom Network News his sibling was a recently retired former Customs Officers and a passionate domino player.
