Accused Child Rapist Remanded

Police have arrested and formally charged a 29-year-old man in relation to an incident at the Frederick Smith Secondary School.

The Ministry of Education earlier this month confirmed that a student had been assaulted at the school, and that a suspect was in police custody.

The Police say Jamel Hunte of Watermans Terrace, Green Hill, St. Michael, has been charged for four offences, including rape of a minor on June 5th and on June 15th, indecent exposure on Folkstone Road, and trespassing on the premises of the Frederick Smith Secondary School.

Hunte was scheduled to appear in court today.
