A man was shot by masked men while walking along Worthing, Christ Church, in the early hours of this morning.
The police say the incident occurred about 1:50 a.m. as the victim was walking in the area near the Republic Bank branch at Worthing.
According to the police, the targeted man encountered two men dressed in all black and wearing ski masks.
They pointed a gun at the victim and one of the bandits shot him in his right thigh. The assailants then ran off and left the area in a white motor car.
The victim ran to a nearby business, asked for help and was subsequently transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private motor car.
Recently there have been armed robberies or attempted robberies at a mechanic shop in St. George, an auto body repair shop, also in St. George, at an entertainment facility in Christ Church and at a residence in St. Michael.
In at least some of those incidents the getaway vehicle was also described as a white car.
