Barbados has recorded more than 300 hundred new covid-19 cases and three deaths in the last two weeks of March as figures show an increase in cases and a rising positivity rate.

Statistics released by the Ministry of Health this afternoon show that for the period March 18^th to 31^st, 295 cases were recorded from one thousand, 864 tests – a positivity rate of 15.8 percent.

In addition three people died as result of covid-19 over the period bringing the total number of deaths in Barbados from the virus since the start of the pandemic to 582.

For the previous two week reporting period, March 4^th to 17^th, Barbados recorded 239 covid-19 cases and no deaths with the positivity rate then standing at just over 12 percent.
