Barbados has recorded more than 300 hundred new covid-19 cases and three deaths in the last two weeks of March as figures show an increase in cases and a rising positivity rate.
Statistics released by the Ministry of Health this afternoon show that for the period March 18th to 31st, 295 cases were recorded from one thousand, 864 tests – a positivity rate of 15.8 percent.
In addition three people died as result of covid-19 over the period bringing the total number of deaths in Barbados from the virus since the start of the pandemic to 582.
For the previous two week reporting period, March 4th to 17th, Barbados recorded 239 covid-19 cases and no deaths with the positivity rate then standing at just over 12 percent.
