Grass Fires Trigger Health Concerns

A spate of grass and cane fires and the resulting smoke is creating a health concern especially for asthma and sinus suffers.

The situation is becoming so severe, it prompted an appeal from government Senator Dr.Shantal Munro-knight at the start of today’s session of the Senate.

President of the Barbados Pharmaceutical Society Yolan Pantin confirms a spike in people seeking medication for respiratory ailments caused by the smoke.

She is urging those who are being affected to take precautions
