Barbados has been removed from the European Union list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions.
The announcement was made today by the Council of the European Union and confirmed by Barbados’ Minister of Energy and Business, Senator Lisa Cummings, in an interview with Starcom Network News.
The blacklisting had significant potential implications for Barbados’ international business sector and Senator Cummings notes that a lot of work had to be done to get EU clearance.
Senator Cummings notes getting the clearance involved considerable collaboration between the public sectors and involved several agencies.
