The Sheraton Mall murder accused has been jailed for life.
25 year-old Hakeem Stuart was today sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Damian Trotman in the forecourt of the busy shopping mall on the afternoon of March 21st, 2019.
High Court judge Justice Carlisle Greaves, said that Stuart must serve a minimum of 41 years behind bars before being eligible for release.
The judge termed the murder a brazen execution.
The Court took into consideration, the four years Stuart spent on remand awaiting trial.
The 25 year old had denied murdering Trotman but a jury found him guilty last November after deliberating for three and a half hours.
During the trial the Court heard that Stuart had admitted to police he was at Sheraton Mall on the day Trotman was fatally shot, but maintained he was not the person who pulled the trigger.
