Minister Denies Claims in Hospital Video

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital denies it ran out of dressing materials such as gauze earlier this week and dismisses a video being circulated about the matter as propaganda.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Sonia Browne, who has direct responsibility for the QEH, issued the denial on VOB’s Down to Brass Tacks call-in program.

She was responding to a video that has been making the rounds on social media showing people queuing outside the dressings and outpatients department of the QEH.

In the video, an individual can be heard voicing frustration about the alleged situation there.

He claimed that more a hundred people were waiting to have their wounds dressed.

And a caller to Brasstacks sought to corroborate the claims in the video.

But Dr. Browne rejects the claims and insists the queue was the result of the department being late in commencing business.

Dr. Browne also disclosed that the QEH is redesigning the entire process of patient flow at the hospital and reported there is already progress in reducing waiting times at the QEH.
