Attorney at law Michael Lashley has been added to the legal team of Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Neil Rowe, who had a new look team of lawyers today as he made another court appearance on a rape charge.

When Mr. Rowe, the MP for the St. Michael North West constituency made his first court appearance at the Oistins Magistrates Court last October, he was represented by attorney Roger Forde who is no longer representing the accused in this matter.

The government MP’s legal team is now headed by prominent King’s Counsel, Ralph Thorne, who is also a government MP, along with another King’s Counsel, the prominent criminal lawyer Michael Lashley, who is a former opposition MP and cabinet minister in the last Democratic Labour Party administration.

The legal team also includes attorneys Emerald Griffith, Zudie Payne and Sade Harris.

Mr. Rowe remains on bail and is due back in court in March
