MP Complains About Allocation of Government Houses

MP for St. Michael East, Trevor Prescod disapproves of government’s plans to house hurricane victims in new homes being built in his constituency.

He believes people from the area should be given priority when the government built houses are being allocated.

He was speaking during a media conference this morning to provide an update on the construction of houses at Tichbourne, St. Michael.

Mr. Prescod believes that the units which have been described as temporary accommodation may end up being permanent.

But Senior Minister with responsibility for coordinating infrastructural projects, Dr. William Duguid said the housing for those in need of accommodation will only be temporary.

He said that government intends to relocate people currently staying at Codrington College in St. John and the Frank Walcott Labour College at Mangrove, St. Philip.
