Purity Bakeries has responded to a product complaint of a video circulating on social media purporting to show a cockroach on a loaf of bread allegedly manufactured by the company.

In a statement, Chief Executive Officer of the Manufacturing Division of Goddard Enterprises, Nicholas Mouttet, said that the matter has been reported to the police as an attempt to blackmail, intended to hurt the company after they refused to pay a significant sum of money to the complainant.

The Statement said that Purity is asking people who are circulating the video to carefully consider the actions by forwarding the video, which they say is perpetuating fraud against the company.

The company added that they are committed to the highest standards of production and quality control in the manufacture and delivery of its products.
