Calypsonian Bongo Has Passed Away

Calypsonian Walter Whitney, stage name Bongo, who was well known for his 1992 hit song “Take it or lump it” passed away today.

Winston Alleyne, the manager of the Super Gladiators Tent which Bongo was a part of, says the artiste contributed greatly to the culture of Barbados and will be missed.

Music producer Elmore Roach, the founder of Radar Studios, recounts the last recording session and a recent conversation with Bongo.
