No Decision to Raise Retirement Age Says NIS Deputy Chair

Deputy Chairman of the National Insurance Scheme, Rawdon Adams, says no decision has been made to increase the retirement age, but that all options remain on the table.

Speaking at the final in a series of public town hall meetings about the problems facing the scheme, he responded to the concerns expressed on social media about the possibility of the retirement age being moved from 67 to 72.

Meantime, from the floor several members of the public voiced concern about of the management of the NIS fund and felt strongly that it should be insulated from potential political interference.

But the NIS Deputy Chairman insists the major problem is not the investment strategy.
