University political scientist and talk show host, Dr. Kristina Hinds is tipped to be one of two new independent Senators to be sworn in tomorrow, Friday.
The appointments will fill the last two remaining seats in the Upper Chamber of the Barbados Parliament.
Dr. Hinds is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and one of the moderators of VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call-in Programme.
She holds a PhD in International Relations.
There has been much speculation about who will fill these last two Senate seats.
The re-elected Barbados Labour Party government had indicated its willingness to offer two seats in the Senate to the Democratic Labour Party, which failed to win a seat in the House of Assembly for a second successive time.
But that offer appeared to have expired after a proposed constitutional amendment, that would have facilitated the move was withdrawn from consideration by the Senate.
