The fire service has been battling a blaze at Phillips Road, Lightfoot lane in the city involving at least five houses.

The police say the report came in at about 11:15 am.

Kemar Stuart, the Democratic Labour Party’s candidate for the city in the recent elections, and who lives nearby, was among those at the scene.

A resident spoke of how neighbours tried to help douse the flames.
