Curfew extended , no lockdown

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has announced that the night-time curfew will be extended for a further two weeks but there will be no further lockdown.

Miss Mottley was speaking at a COVID-19 and post-hurricane media briefing where it was disclosed that the positivity rate has come down since the initial spike.

The Prime Minister also announced there will be criminal penalties for anyone presenting fake vaccine certificates or PCR tests.

The Prime Minister says Barbados will be conducting post entry audits of arrivals and will be working with the relevant governments to verify the information.

Miss Mottley criticized what she indicated was anti-vaccine fake news and urged people to get vaccinated while noting that none of the patients in primary or secondary isolation had been vaccinated.

She also disclosed that more vaccines are arriving next month.
