Chris De Caires has resigned as Chairman of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation just nine months after he was appointed to the post.

Mr. De Caires, who has a well regarded background in accounting, finance and business generally, was expected to help turn-around the state agency which has over the years been beset by financial and industrial relations issues.

He took up the post only last October and announced his resignation at the board meeting on Monday of last week, June 28th, informing the other directors that his departure was effective the end of the month which was last Wednesday.

CBC’s deputy chairman Hutson Best is the acting chair.
