Three to be charged soon for cop killing

Starcom Network News sources are confirming a major breakthrough in the murder of police acting station sergeant Newton Lewis.

Those sources indicate that three men are in custody and may soon be charged.

Acting station sergeant Lewis, a highly-regarded officer, was shot dead near his home at Rose Hill, St. Peter while responding to a burglary at neighbouring property more than two weeks ago.

He was laid to rest on Tuesday with a full military funeral.
