Former Barbados High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Reverend Guy Hewitt has confirmed that he will be vying for the post of President of the Democratic Labour Party.
He made disclosure in statement on Wednesday.
The DLP is currently led by Attorney-at-Law Verla Depeiza who was challenged for the post by former DLP General Secretary George Pilgrim last year. Having lost his bid to replace Ms. Depeiza, he subsequently resigned from the party.
Political Scientist Peter Wickham says he does not see Hewitt as a strong contender for the presidency.
