The Barbados Meteorological Services is urging Barbadians not to be alarmed with today’s sighting of whirlwinds, what many assumed to be a tornado of some sort.

Several videos circulated on social media of the whirlwinds in the Oistins, Christ Church area.

However Meteorologist Andrew Daniel says there is no need to be alarmed as he explained to Starcom Network News why this event occurred.
