RETAIL STORES REPORT BETTER THAN EXPECTED SALES

Retail businesses and shopping malls are reporting good business on this last shopping day before Christmas.

In fact, manager of the Sheraton Centre mall, Kelly Stoute, tells Starcom Network News the volume of traffic today is better than she expected given the impact the covid-19 pandemic has had on the economy.

Ms. Stoute says this represents a big rebound from the slump in customers earlier in the year.

Meantime, Mark Clarke, location manager for Duty Free Caribbean, which operates the Cave Sheperd Stores, reports good Christmas Eve business as well, though not at the level of the previous year.

Operations Director of Sky Mall, Everick Eastmond reports a steady influx of shoppers coming to the mall to do last minute shopping.

And he says although people have less money to spend this Christmas he is pleased with the number of people he is seeing shopping.
