EDUCATION MINISTER BACKS CXC PARENTS

Education Minister, Santia Bradshaw says she is fully backing the efforts of concerned parents who want CARICOM leaders to help resolve the impasse with the Caribbean Examinations Council over the regrading of CSEC and CAPE papers.

Yesterday, a group calling itself the “Caribbean Coalition of CXC 2020 Redress”, complained that a promised one-week review was not only delayed by 12 weeks, but had disadvantaged thousands of children across the region.

Miss Bradshaw says she met with the group of parents and students earlier this week and there was consensus on the way forward.

Some CXC students complained that they’ve had to leave universities because of the delays in the reviews.

And Minister Bradshaw says her Ministry is open to assisting once they have been officially notified.
