About three months after they were laid off about sixty former employees of the Cliff Restaurant are in line for a severance payout from the National Insurance Scheme.
Some of the workers met this morning with NIS officials and afterwards told Starcom Network News they were happy with the outcome of those discussions.
Spokesman for the group Jerome Farley is hoping to have the money by Christmas.
Mr. Farley says the big concern previously was not knowing what the position was in relation to their severance, but he’s happy with how the NIS handled the matter. He believes the business owners should be held accountable as he in his opinion they are leaving the government to clean up the problems they left behind.
