The flash flood watch for Barbados was upgraded to a flood warning and should be in place until 6 p.m.
A flood warning is issued when flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.
A tropical wave interacting with a mid to upper-level trough has already generated up to 25mm of rainfall across sections of the island in the past six hours. Additional rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50mm in heavy to violent showers are expected as conditions remain unsettled.
The Met Office says this will be changed sooner than 6 p.m. if conditions warrant.
