Petition to move Lord Nelson statue from Heroes Square gaining traction

Almost 5,000 people have so far signed a petition calling for the removal of the statue of Lord Nelson.

The petition initiated by young Barbadian Alex Downes, has a target of 10 thousand signatures.

Mr. Downes tells Starcom Network News that he started the petition “Nelson Must Go” in light of racial injustices being highlighted globally through the Black Lives Matter Movement.

Mr. Downes says he is pleased with the support so far and hopes it will draw the attention of government.
