Staff at the Barbados Water Authority are threatening a strike over the reported firing of the state agency’s head of human resources.
A memo obtained by Starcom Network News advises staff that Director of Human Resources Management and Development, Jacqueline Belgrave, parted ways with the BWA effective today.
The notice signed by the BWA’s general manager states that next week staff will be informed of what interim measures are being put in place for the coverage of this function.
But officials of the union division at the BWA are demanding the reinstatement of Ms Belgrave and insist that there will be a strike on Monday unless the decision to fire her is reversed.
