NEW INDEPENDENT SENATOR TAKES HIS SEAT IN UPPER CHAMBER

Barbados’ newest Independent Senator  Anglican cleric Reverend John Rogers took his seat in the upper chamber on Wednesday saying he’s thankful to serve the interests of the people at this critical juncture in Barbados’ history.

Senator Rogers, Rector of St. George Parish Church, replaces another Anglican Cleric, Michael Maxwell, who has been appointed Bishop of Barbados.

Leader of Government business in the senate, Dr. Jerome Walcott, welcomed the new senator as did  Independent Senator Monique Taitt, Opposition Senator Caswell Franklyn and others.
