Verla De Peiza has retained the Presidency of the Democratic Labour Party.
The attorney at law comfortably defeated her challenger Reverend Guy Hewitt gaining 507 votes to his 299 after a keenly contested election.
The Presidential battle generated considerable interest in and outside the party and the voter turnout was said to be higher than for the previous DLP elections.
