As residents in several areas continue to complain about power outages in the wake of Hurricane Elsa, the Fire Service reports it has been responding to a series of utility poles on fire triggered by dislodged trees and branches coming into contact with high tension wires.
One such incident last night involved a high tension wire at Regency Park, Christ Church that set a tree on fire.
It was captured in a viral video that sparked a false rumour that an insurance company building in the area was burning.
And this morning the fire service was summoned to Passage Road, St. Michael where another set of high tensions wires were on fire.
Chief Fire Officer Errol Maynard tells Starcom Network there have been several such incidents.
