Another COVID case at Princess Margaret

There’s yet another covid-19 case at the Princess Margaret Secondary School in St. Phillip.

The Staff were informed of the development via a memo this morning from the Principal.

They were told the case is a student of form 4-G and that to contain the situation the school has been advised to allow all students of that form to remain at home until further notice.

While the school has not officially been closed Starcom Network News understands that some teachers have left the compound.

The teachers from the affected class are being sent for testing.

Meantime General Secretary of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Herbert Gittens, tells Starcom Network News that he’s aware of the development.

However, Mr. Gittens advises that while the official position is not to just close schools every time there is a case, it may still be necessary to do so temporarily.
