Barbados Water Authority Board member and community activist, Andrew Dixon, has been defending the authority and himself in the face of harsh criticism from St. Joseph residents who staged a protest yesterday over water outages.
Mr. Dixon was among those who staged a protest march several years ago over the water issues in the parish and was subsequently offered a seat on the board.
Speaking on VOB’s Brass Tacks program today, Mr. Dixon denied that he was silenced by being made a director of the BWA.
He contends that it’s simply that he now has a better understanding of how the BWA’s operations work and the difficulty in fixing the problems.
He insists the problems are being addressed.
