Health Minister tests negative for COVID-19

The Minister of Health and Wellness Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bostic has tested negative for COVID-19.

The Minister went into self-isolation after he had been in contact with the Ghanaian nursing delegation last Thursday in which nine of them tested positive for the virus.

He spoke to the nation today during a press conference held by Prime Minister Mia Mottley at Illaro court to bring Barbados up to speed on the management of COVID-19 on the island.

While Barbados recorded a new case last night, the head of the Harrison Point Isolation Facility Dr. Corey Forde said one of the Ghanaian nurses was in ICU but will be returned to secondary care today. The other nurses are also doing well in isolation.

Prime Minister Mottley has cautioned against the fake news regarding COVID cases and reminded Barbadians that health professionals the world over who contracted COVID have returned to the frontline.
