Omel Walrond, the man arrested in connection with the death of policeman, Antonio Rochester, has been charged with murder.
Walrond appeared today before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the A1 Magistrates Court and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
The accused, who is being represented by attorney at law, Lesley Cargill-Straker, has been remanded to Dodds Prison until February 6th.
The charge results from an incident on January 2nd when Sargeant Rochester was struck by a truck and pinned to a wall near his home at Tudor Bridge, St. Michael.
Waldrond, the stepson of the deceased, is alleged to have been driving the truck and is said to have fled the scene leading to the police issuing a wanted man notice.
The accused turned himself in the following day.
