A 78-year-old man suffered burns to 90 percent of his body when the house he occupied was extensively damaged by fire last night.
The fire at the two-story concrete brick-constructed building occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Boarded Hall, Christ Church.
The victim, Samuel Alleyne, was rescued by residents in the area and later transported to hospital by ambulance.
Fire service personnel responded and extinguished the fire.
Investigations into the cause of the blaze are ongoing.
