Climate Crisis Triggers Insurance Worries

The General Insurance Association of Barbados warns that severe storms and other events caused by climate change, could drive up rates or make coverage difficult to obtain.

President of the Association, Randy Graham, was reacting to comments made by the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Donna Forde, who said property and business insurance may soon be difficult to access due to the impact of the climate crisis.

Mr. Graham tells Starcom Network News there were moves in Florida to cancel flood coverage and this could happen here.

He explained the trends.
