Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has joined with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley in expressing their “deep concern” over the increasing gang violence and turbulence now being experienced in Haiti.
A Canadian government statement says that Mr. Trudeau spoke to Miss Mottley on the “ recent developments” in the French-speaking CARICOM country.
The statement says they agreed on the urgency of deploying the United Nations-authorized Multinational Security Support mission to improve security in Haiti.
