A man was transported to hospital with severe slash wounds and a suspect is in custody following an attack this morning in the city.

The incident occurred at about 8:58 a.m. at the junction of Pinfold and Coleridge Streets.

Sources told Starcom Network News that the victim, a man in his forties, was reportedly walking the street when he encountered a man with whom he had been allegedly involved in a previous dispute.

The victim was reportedly slashed several times about the upper body including the neck.

The incident occurred in close proximity to Central Police Station and a suspect was quickly taken into custody.
