The Puff of Colour jouvert event whose postponement was announced last week is back ON.
Organisers of the event had announced the postponement due to challenges with insurance coverage following the debacle at another jouvert, Powda, where an estimated two hundred people stormed the venue, pushing down or climbing over fences.
Several scuffles broke out and a number of people were injured.
This development apparently caused concern among insurers who were worried about the potential liability risks should law suits result from such events.
Sources close to Puff of Color tell Starcom Network News this forced them to have to resolve certain matters with their event insurers and by the time they got the insurance sorted there were only two working days left to do the event to set up.
This forced its postponement.
The event was to be held last Saturday and they got confirmation of insurance coverage late on Wednesday while it takes them just over a week to complete the event set up.
The organizers tell Starcom that while their security is usually very tight it will be even more substantial this year.
They stress that they are aware of recent developments and are determined to create an environment where people can have fun in a safe venue.
But they also urge the public to act responsibly.
The new date and venue are to be announced.
