The Ministry of Education this morning met with over four thousand teachers from both private and state-run schools to discuss the implementation of the Barbados School Nutrition Policy that takes effect when the new school term begins tomorrow.
The meeting was held at the Wildey Gymnasium.
Speaking to journalists before the meeting began, Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, said the aim was to educate teachers on the types of food and beverages that will be allowed in schools.
Dr. Archer-Bradshaw says some canteen operators and vendors have indicated their support for the School Nutritional Policy.
