CLASSES RESUME NEXT WEEK FOR STUDENTS OF L. T. GAY MEMORIAL PRIMARY SCHOOL, SOME OFFSITE

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has announced that classes commence on Tuesday, January 10, for students of the Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School.

Environmental conditions at the school remain a major concern for teachers and parents.

Some classes will continue to held offsite.

The Ministry says all students of classes that were accommodated at the school’s Spooner’s Hill location during Term 1 will report to that site.

Meantime, all students of Classes 2 and 3 will continue to be accommodated at The Church of Christ the King, Rock Dundo, St. Michael, all Class 4 students will continue to be accommodated at Sharon Moravian Church Hall, St Thomas and Reception students will continue to be accommodated at Grace Hill Moravian Church, Spooner’s Hill, St. Michael.

The Ministry states that it will continue to provide transportation, as required, to shuttle students to The Church of Christ the King and Sharon Moravian Church Hall.

The Ministry also advises parents and guardians who need transportation for their children to have them report to the school’s Spooners’ Hill location by 7:45 a.m.

The education authorities promise to continue to investigate and eliminate the possible sources of the reported offensive odour at the school.
