The Inter-American Development Bank has apologized for a survey that was administered to first formers which raised alarm from parents.

Some of the questions on the survey, which included very sensitive issues related to sex, drugs and alcohol use as well as their relationship with parents, were shared on various media yesterday.

The Bank released an apology last night stating that no offence was intended. They admitted that the Ministry of Education had initially objected to the questions at the centre of concern, which were mistakenly left on the survey, the questions have since been removed.

The IDB stated that as a development partner with the government of Barbados it would not deliberately engage in any practice that would harm that relationship.
