FTC Intervenors Quiz BL&P On Rate Hike Request

Intervenors at the electricity rate hearing continue to press Barbados Light and Power to justify why it needs an 11.9 percent rate hike.

Attorney at Law Tricia Watson and Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Browne, President of the Barbados Sustainable Energy Co-op and a former Light and Power employee are among those questioning the power company’s management about the request for a rate review.

Mr. Browne posed a series of questions to Light and Power’s Director of Finance, Ricaido Jennings.

Earlier Ms. Watson quizzed BL&P’s director of operations Johann Greaves about the attempt to recover from consumers more than twenty million dollars for an aging steam plant.
