There are conflicting reports with regards to an alleged incident in Guyana involving a plane on which the Barbados Prime Minister and the Guyana President were travelling.
Yesterday a report from a media entity called News Source Guyana stated that last Sunday evening a Guyana Defence Force aircraft carrying VIP passengers which included the Barbados’ Prime Minister slipped off a runway while the aircraft headed towards the terminal building and ended up getting stuck in the mud to the side of the taxiway.
The report added that emergency teams including the fire service were rushed to the scene.
There has been no comment on the matter from the Prime Minister’s office here in Barbados but when contacted by Starcom Network News, journalist at Demerara Waves in Guyana, Dennis Chabrol, said there are varying accounts of the matter and indicated the incident may not have been as serious as the initial story suggested.
